Hi All,

I am trying to hook up a new sink for a friend from church. She went from a double to a single sink. The problem is when I hooked up the disposal, the drain from it is almost inline with the stub out. Any suggestions on how this can be done? Thanks,

Ray

The trap adapter normally goes on the end of the stub coming out of the wall. First picture.
Then use a p trap kit to connect the two.

A 1.5" P-trap is fine for a kitchen sink. The 2", which I almost never see here, would work too. That is what Sylvan would like on it.
It looks like you will need to cut some of that back and rebuild it from the wall.

How should Ray put a 1.5 inch trap adapter on his 2-inch ABS? Should he incorporate a 45?

I have not done this exact install but that is were the fun comes in.
Rotate disposal. Add a 45 to the stub if needed. All good. Positive .
