Hi,

I have a fleck 7000sxt 40k grain that I bought in 2016 to use on my municipal water from the community well. With the head being discontinued and not having parts, I think its time to rebed my resin soon due to 1ppm chlorine in our water. With that said, we are remodeling so I would like to set everything up from the start. Here are my homes need, low maintenance is of the most importance for us:

2 people + dog
2 baths
28gpg
1.3 iron
1ppm chlorine

City water report looks pretty good (included), EWG states there are 12 contaminants that are high to their standards and 10 can be filtered out by carbon alone. We would like to avoid a RO system, so I already bought this under sink filtration system for drinking water: https://www.ewswater.com/product-page/essential-drinking-water-system

My thoughts are the following, let me know if you would change anything.

1. Plumb the water filtration system at the kitchen sink on hard water
2. Install a 4.5x20" 5 micron whole house sediment filter prior to the water softener
3. Install Clack WS1 40k grain water softener, 10% cross linked resin

I thought about an upflow carbon 1.5cuft clack tank, but leaning away due to the following reasons. I dont want to have to rebed anything. I also worry about the potential for bacteria entering my homes pipes. I want minimal maintenance. Backwash Carbon filters are out due to not having outlet space and drain space in the laundry room, we already have a lot being utilized there.
