Bought a new house and noticed bathroom sink drains very slow. Have snaked it and don’t think it’s clogged. Currently remodeling the other bathroom that shares a wall with the clogged sink and noticed that the sink drain goes straight into the vent. Could this be the issue? I’ve attached a picture showing drain. Thanks in advanced.

Pull the stopper, and remove any hair or crud.

If you pour water down the drain after the lavatory has not been used for many hours, will the first cup of water go down quicker? If that, the obstruction could be farther from the drain. Measuring the amount of water that goes in quicker can let you compute about how far along the path the clog is.

Sometimes there is an air lock slowing water from going down. This may be cured by lifting the whole pop-up stopper out, or by inserting a soda straw past the open stopper to let air in.

The overflow can serve to admit air under the stopper if the right drain piece was used. If the sink has no overflow, especially if this is a vessel sink, that can slow water entry.
