Hello, there was a leak on my irrigation main pipe, I try to fix it by myself. I just glued it with a expansion coupling. However when I turn on the water to test it, with all sprinkler valves off, the pipe was pushed upward due to water pressure, thus loose the coupling. I tried another compression coupling, same thing happened, the water leaked from loosed gasket.
Should we bury the pipe or secure it to the ground before water testing? See picture, I actually put some straps to secure the pipe, however looks not enough. Thanks!

Turn off the water supply to the leaking pipes and clean the area around the hole to be patched. Use a metal file to smooth any sharp edges that might cut through the patch. Apply the patch and repair clamp so it evenly overlaps the damaged section of pipe. Tighten the clamps to seal the leak.
