Something is causing mineral deposits to come out of solution during the backwash/rinse cycle during regeneration. The minerals build up on the walls of the backwash line and inside the head unit causing the head to jam up completely. The deposits are as hard as concrete and cannot be cleaned or cleared. I'm on my 4th head in 5 years. I do not have buildup in my plumbing pipes. This is only be happening on the backwash side. Has anyone experienced this? As far as I can tell this is an uncommon case, making me think there is an uncommon cause.

Is your system a mixed bed (cation/anion) for softening and Nitrate/sulfate/or tannin reduction? If so, this is common. We need more information.
