Pumptec is very common, but I had no idea they had gotten so expensive. I guess I need to go up on the Cycle Sensors as they are still only $255. The Cycle Sensor only works up to 2HP, but does a better job than a pumptec. The pumptec has a "calibration" button and shuts off with a 25% drop in amps. The Cycle Sensor can be set to the low amps needed to protect the pump, but still not trip because of low water level or throttling as is usually needed. Most pumps drop amps lower than 25% when used with a Cycle Stop Valve and pumptecs will not work, which is why we had to make the Cycle Sensor.
