Good toilet with a 14-inch rough-in?

I asked my plumber to install the Toto Drake CST744S-12 Sedona Beige/Biscuit EL (elongated) toilet.

When the plumber showed up he said: "Your old toilet has a 14" rough-in; this new toilet has a 12" rough-in. If I install the new one, it'll be several inches from the wall, and, given the age of your bathroom floor, may wobble over time. I'd recommend only using a toilet with a 14" rough-in."

Can someone recommend a good, quiet toilet with a 14" rough-in, preferably in the same price range as the Drake? (I see that Toto has some toilets that can be converted to a 14" rough-in using the UniFit -- does the UniFit work well?)

Wow!
Any 12" toilet will work on a 14" rough.
Any bowl can rock, if the floor is uneven.
When a floor is uneven, it should be shimmed, and that is the end of it.

Most 12" toilets will have about 3/4" behind the tank on a 12" rough.
Add two more inches with a 14" rough.
No big deal, it works.

If you want to pull the bowl back two inches, then any Toto with a Unifit will do it.

Other brands use the same bowl as the 12", but use a thicker tank.
Checking the specs on this means that the only thing that changes is the space between the tank. The bowl is still out in the room.

I recommend using a 12" bowl if cost is a factor and space isn't.
If space is an issue, then getting a bowl that can be pulled back 2" is nice.

The Unifit adapter​

The skirted toilet design offers the use of a patented modular rough-in system, which has been popular in Asia, called the UniFit Rough-in. The system includes an interchangeable part that replaces the lower half of the trapway, adapting the toilet to either a 10", 12", or 14" rough-in.

Only TOTO uses the Unifit, and only some of their models.

Toto Vespin II CST474CEFG with SS114 Softclose seat.
This bowl was installed on a 13-1/2" rough-in using the 14" Unifit adapter.
The water shutoff can be as close as 5-1/2" to the left of center, unless it's higher off the floor, and then it can be even closer to center.
This shutoff had been replaced with a new 1/4 turn valve with brass nipple through the wall.

In some of the older Seattle homes, the old toilets had been wall mounted tank toilets.
Those typically are 14" rough-in and need a flange repair to use standard closet bolt connections at the flange.
Everything is on the truck for that.
The Vespin comes with a standard 12" adapter or you can order a 10" or 14" adapter depending on your rough-in distance.
