Is soft drawn copper still the best choice for a propane fire log set?
Have one runs in crawl space. Kink in line where comes above floor to valve. Was thinking just replace 4 ft. section with a joint below floor. Plumber said it is to difficult to flare a copper pipe under a house. And use a union to replace just a section.
He did not look in the crawl space. It is 24 to 30" high, clean and well lighted.

So anyway. Entire 1/2" line is about 30 ft. And if I decide to replace is copper still the way to go.

Thanks for any suggestions

how high is the crawl space? You used a union to join copper gas line?

24" to 28" high. No I did not use a union. But would need something like a flare union if you replaced a 4 ft section.

Need to replace the last 4 ft where it comes into the house. That would put the joint in the crawl space.
