We have an old house (70yrs) And periodically part of the power flickers (part of the kitchen and dining room). Our house runs on fuses. Lately, like once every 6 weeks 5 months a fuse blows, we replace it and we're good. Two days ago we noticed tge kitchen ceiling light flickering snd crackling and Now the power is out to part of the kitchen, part of the dining room which is next to the kitchen and part of the basement. We have replaced all the fuses and still no power.

Fuses themselves are not normally a problem. Main issue is usually that there are not enough of them, i.e. not enough circuits for the house. 70 years ago it was common to have 4 - left side of house, right side of house, kitchen/bath, and furnace. So with half the house on one fuse it is easy to overload it. Replacing the fusebox with a modern breaker panel would be part of an overall upgrade to add more circuits to your house.

Lots of times a new ceiling light will run hotter than the antique one and damage wires over time. Time to call in an electrician.

I would check for a loose connection at a outlet that feeds other outlets. The outlet that has been getting hot.
