Need some insight, Have a smart honeywell thermostat, to the best of my knowledge everything is wired correctly(including the common)and no know issues with the furnace. Gas heating and no a/c. What happens is in AUTO-HEAT once it reaches the desired temperature the thermostat turns off and it seams as if the furnace reboots, after then it’s back to normal, until it repeats when temperature drops. The furnace is a bit older but not ancient. When I had the old battery powered manual thermostat this did not happen in AUTO.

Don't know what u mean by reboots. Does the blower come right back on after it turns off after a heating cycle within a minute or two?

So it reaches the temperature, you hear a little click the thermostat turns off, the fan keeps going, after about a minute the thermostat regains power boots up the fan stops and the furnace and thermostat idle until the temperature drops and repeats the cycle.

Thermostat and fan if in the auto position have nothing to do with one another. The fan is either controlled by a temperature control or by a timer in a board. So your display is going blank for a few seconds?

Take a pic of the wiring diagram inside blower door. Do you have a R y and Rw two different wires?
At thermostat subbase
R to C 24 vac
R to W, Y, G 24 vac
C to R,Y, G 0 vac
