We recently bought a house that was built in 1992 and I'm sure these are the original faucets. We have a locked up Moen cartridge and were going to replace it. There is no allen screw on the faucet, so I assume the center cap has to come off and there is a center/set screw. I cannot get this cap off. Is anyone familiar with this model? Does anyone know if it is supposed to pry off or unscrew? I have tried channel locks and turning counter clockwise. I have tried getting a flathead and even an Exacto blade under the cap to clean out buildup and pry it off. No luck with either. I looked online and can't even find this model faucet information. Can anyone give me advice on how to get this off?

Pfister Avante faucet, NOT a Moen. Unscrew the chrome cap.

HJ - Thank you! It took two people, one holding, one turning, but we got it off!

(I don't know why I thought it was Moen. I guess the shower head was swapped out at some point and I assumed they were the same. So much for assumptions.)
