1/2hp Franklin Motors. Right side is 1980, middle is 1997, and the left side is 1985. I will dig around for a 2000 model and I will see how a brand new motor matches up as well. I found a 1995 model and it's the same size as the 1997 model. So probably sometime in the late 80's or early 90's there was a length change.

If you were thinking there was a difference between 2-wire and 3wire. The 1997 motor was a 2-wire and the 1995 motor was a 3-wire.

Franklin had their length change in 1992 on their motors. It didn't effect the motor any to where they can't last as long or claims against them having any cooling problems.
