Does anyone know if the cove joint fiber expansion joint material between the slab and foundation wall has historically contained asbestos? Most of this is from 1968 with a little from 1982.

Thanks!

Chances are that there is some asbestos there. However, undisturbed, the risk is low.

To find out for sure, you need to test it. In some states, once you try to find out and verify it...you need to disclose this fact when you sell the property.

The issue is that the joint needs to be repaired and thus some of it removed. If asbestos - don't want to be grinding it.

FWIW, Had 3 samples tested, and no asbestos. 1960's fiber expansion joint material.
