I had posted a question about why after 2 years several of my PEX crimp connections started to leak. Here’s the answer SALT. My well water has a sodium level of over 900 mg/l
I had the water tested after my tankless water heater also started to leak in theee spots. My conclusion is that the salt started to corrode the brass joints and forced the sodium water past the barbs under the clamps. May have to replumb the house it’s a two story home. This will be done after I get a new well drilled for about 15-20k $$$$&& what a cluster f@@k. Still trying to find out what caused the well contamination
Not near any main roads out in the country but they salt the roads like crazy. So if you have a well and mysterious leaks get the water tested

check with the pipe, fitting, and crimp manufacturers to see if any warranties cover your reinstallation. Incidentally, sodium is NOT "salt". Salt is sodium chloride.

In some places the sodium is in the ground naturally, and unless there is a completely different source of water at a deeper level, you will not find better results.
