Hi - I have a two-tank septic system with a sand-mound drainfield. The first tank holds solids, and then there is a Dosing tank that gravity feeds the drain field. In the sandmound I have four 1-1/2" clean-out risers and was told by the installer to open up the caps on those clean-outs once a year when the tank is going to dose. I am wondering if there is a way to manually trigger/activate the dosing to the drain field myself, or do I just need to leave the caps off for several days and wait?
