My fridge is giving me floaties on the ice maker side (when I examine the ice after it melts). My container and ice maker are all perfectly clean.

The drinking water doesn't have floaties.

Any ideas? The water is being run though a filter about 5 feet from the water shut off valve.

Thanks.

Do these floaties resemble tiny pieces of styrofoam?

I found this on the web:

Refrigerator with icemaker new in 10/05. Problem with icemaker falling apart - pieces of plastic and styrofoam in ice cubes.

Maybe your icemaker is falling apart as well.
