Flex 5800sxt brown water after cycle

Hi I have a fleck 5800 sxt 1.5 cu softener. After each cycle at 2am there is residual brown water when i use the tap after the cycle. This clears up after running the water for approximately 10mins. No water is being used at 2am. Any idea what setting i could possibly change to address this? Maybe increasing the backwash time? My water hardness when tested a long time ago was 285 mg/l and had some elevated iron. I should note that the brown water issue started after one year of use of the softner. And in addition on an other completely different system same issue.
