I have a Fleck Model 7000 SXT water softener. We recently had a power surge and the power transformer and circuit board seem to have both died. I bought a brand new, exact same circuit board (Model 7000 SXT) on ebay along with a brand new exact same 24V AC, 400mA power transformer. The new circuit board powers on fine. However, it seems to not have the OEM firmware. On plugging in, the display on the circuit board starts off with "MT LCD" and then as i press the Extra Cycle button, it goes through alphabets one by one (AB, CD,....), then words like TAP (with the image of a faucet), "Flow", "PRG" etc but i just can't enter anything. At one point, pressing the Extra Cycle button, leads to "P2 High" and water seems to start flowing. i have no idea what is going on. i have pulled off the plug. Any advice on what to do?

Did you try master reset?
Master Reset: Hold the Extra Cycle button while powering up
the unit. This resets all of the parameters in the unit. Check
and verify the choices selected in Master Programming Mode.
I don't recognize the things you are seeing, so this is just a generic suggestion.

If the master reset does not do it, I would presume you have some special version that is not suitable for you.
