Don't see the fix for this in other threads but my Fleck 5810 SXT has been dripping for a while. The dealer I bought the system from (chloramine filtration so it is only back flushing) said it may be a piston & stack problem so I (finally) bought one, after previously taking out the original (yellow dot) piston to inspect for any damage or debris/build up problem. The water where I am is generally very clean and very soft, with hardly any sedimentation (e.g., draining the hot water tank only produces pretty clear water.)
Installed the new piston and stack, and have... exactly the same problem. I do notice that if I do tighten the piston down to where I can place the mounting plate, the piston is quite stiff. It is meant to be this stiff by design, or could it be whatever is at the bottom of where the piston sits in closed position is bulging up and causing some deformation? Is it time for media replacement? The system is 4 1/2 years old.
