the display is showing error 2 and no response after i pressed "regernation" button. What else i can do to reset the system? There is 4 buttons on it: mode, up, down and regernate

Error 2 is a "system has not regenerated in 30 days" This could be caused by low water use or a bad meter. If you cant get it to reset, simply unplug the power and push/hold the reset button on the back of the valve for 10 seconds.
Check the water flow, make sure the meter is registering water flow accurately, if the problem persists you can set your salt pounds lower. The system will automatically correct the rest of the settings. I would recommend 6 pounds (set to 6, the system will adjust according to your resin quantitiy, this setting is pounds per cf of resin).
