This might be a dumb question, but I've only recently entered the DIY arena, so thanks for helping me out either way.:) I am into metal casting and have used a coal-powered foundry up until now, but thought I'd try my hand at a propane fueled approach. I've more or less gathered all the fittings, pipes, valves, etc that I need, but I noticed that a 1/4" female x 1/4" female brass ball valve that I previously thought to be an NPT fitting on both sides is actually flared. Can I still use the NPT fittings I was originally planning to use without to much trouble? Or do I have to go and buy new flared ones to keep my propane system safe/effective?

You can go to your local big box or hardware store and thumb through the flared fittings which includes adapters. You can pretty much adapt anything to anything when it comes to piping.

Hey, wait a minute.
