Hi guys, I've gotten a lot of answers to my plumbing questions on this site but I've come across something that I can't find any answers to, so I figured I'd post something myself and see if anyone can provide some insight.
So I failed a rough plumbing inspection and here's the basic issue. In the basement I needed a bathroom and laundry created, the shower and toilet drain under the slab so the plumber needed to only bring the washing machine and vanity sink into the main stack. This was done with a 2 inch line, I basically failed because there needs to be a 3 inch line "up to the suds producing fixture branch", so basically the line has to be 3 inches to the vanity, then it can continue over to the washing machine as a 2 inch. I can't find anywhere any code that states this fact and I'm completely amazed a 3 inch line would be necessary to carry a washing machine and vanity sink's waste water.
Is this just completely wrong or am I just unable to find where it says this in the code? Thanks-
