One of my bathrooms (ironically the one that was renovated by the previous owner) has 2 sinks, 4 faucet handles, and all have various degrees of rust forming at the base. I'd clean them up but then they started to swell and separate from the base. Finally enough was enough and I took a deeper look.

I'm not familiar with what pieces these are that are corroded and it looks like I need a chisel to get it out. I was hoping I could just find the right gaskets but from reading some other threads, do I need new faucet sets? Appreciate any advice.

Looks like deteriorated pot-metal and ferrous faucet parts. Typical of cheezy plumbing
fixtures, quite possibly Made in China. ALL metal parts with potential regular contact with water should be corrosion-resistant
brass or stainless steel.

There are bad news and also good news.
The bad news: your fixtures are in irreversible condition and got to go.
The good news: you are going to have new faucets.

Waste no time, money and energy on these faucets. Pull them out and install new ones. There are thousands to choose from, for every taste and budget.
