Hello, I am needing to reroute my downspout. I plan on connecting it to a pvc adapted and then running pvc away from my house but I need to make two 90 degree turns. The downspout will drain into a pvc adapter and from there it will make a 90 degree turn for a couple of inches or so. I then need to make another 90 turn to take the pipe to the discharge location.

Would I be ok using 90's or do I someone need to use 45 degree elbows. In the picture I am going to run the pipe along the wall behind my pool equipment. So you can see that I need to make a turn off the vertical downspout and then another turn to go behind the equipment.

If I use two 90's will the water back up? Thanks

I think you plan to stay above ground.

Consider a system that you can disconnect, and blow a leaf blower through to blow out vegetation.

If going underground, add a strainer before going underground.

For 90s in the PVC, I would use long sweeps, just as you would in plumbing.

A combo instead of a 90 could give you a nice cleanout place that you might be able to insert a leaf blower, with the right attachment, after you remove the cleanout cover.

If you're just going from vertical on the face of the wall to (almost) horizontal around the corner shown in the picture, you can do that with one 45 (or even 22.5) and one 90. The first elbow is just required to get out past the corner, then the 90 lets you turn the corner and end up (almost) horizontal.

Cheers, Wayne

Thanks. yeah, I just need a little slope once I make the corner. My concern with two 90's is whether the water will flow easily enough. I suppose I should put a tee in right past the corner for cleanout purposes?
