The water heater is not mounted under the kitchen sink, it is mounted under the kitchen counter top in a corner. It is in a tight space and it is a smaller water heater, not a full sized one like is in the garage in a normal house. The home inspector recommends having a plumber fix it. Any thoughts on how much it will cost and/or what is involved are greatly appreciated. Thanks. B.C.

Typically that water heater is a 38gal heater with the hot and cold port on the top or the side. The Temperature and Pressure Relief / T&P should still be plumbed in such a manner that it doesn't go UP.. Being in the corner, there is a chance it has a door on the backside/dining room for access to it to remove it or repair it when it fails?
