Hey everyone — I have a Duravit Starck model drop-in tub (700335000000090). I noticed the tub itself doesn’t come with the support frame or mounting brackets. From what I’ve seen, the support frame is optional and often not included by sellers.
Before I order anything else, I want to confirm the correct install method for this model:
I’ve seen some European installs with the Duravit frame but most U.S. installers seem to use mortar beds. Just want to hear from people who’ve done it before, thanks!

- Does this tub simply sit on ledgers screwed to the studs and then get set into a full mortar bed under the bottom?
- Is that amount of support enough to keep it in place long-term?
- Any experience with these tubs without the Duravit frame, does the mortar bed + ledgers hold up fine in the real world?
