My contractor just installed a Drake 1.6 gpf toilet with an insulated tank. The base is solid but the tank wobbles/moves somewhat. When I sit down and lean back, it moves. Why is that. Is it not tightened down enough?

I sort of recall that when my Drake 2 was installed I had a problem like this. The rubber washers needed time to settle down before my installer could tighten the bolts of the tank to the base. As I recall, I was wondering if he would crack the tank by tightening it down too much.

Any thoughts out this?

There are some molded nubs on the bottom of the tank. They should ALMOST touch to bowl...we're talking about a few sheets of paper close. As long as the tank starts out properly vertical, and you tighten the nuts evenly a bit, side-to-side, you won't crack the toilet. Now, if you get all of the contact points tight and you continue..yes...the porcelain is not elastic, so it won't bend.
