I just checked the box store prices and typical household WHs have doubled in a few years to $700.

I have been selling water heaters, with installation included. I am taking a break from that though.
Since Covid, many products have increased in cost, and in availability. When the workers from offices were sent home to work remotely, it gave people some time to rethink what their home life could look like. Places like Home Depot got a boost in business as home projects that had been put off were now being started and completed.
