Hello, I'm wondering if the shower trim kit you buy affects the flow rate coming out of the shower head? I'm asking specifically about Delta trim kits utilizing the MultiChoice Universal shower valve. It looks like the flow rate through the valve is sufficient but then on a trim kit it says that the flow rate is 1.75 gpm. By the description, I can't tell if that is referencing the shower head normally used with that trim kit. I know that the shower head/ restrictor affects flow rate but if I buy a 2.5gpm shower head and use it with a trim kit that says 1.75 gpm, I won't get 2.5 gpm? Can you tell me definitively if a trim kit affects flow rate? I always thought it was just the shower head. Thanks!

are you sure about the flow rate of the valve? Also remember there are different cartridges for that valve body too, but if you take the cartridge apart you will see that the hole the water flows out of is maybe 5/16” at the most. It’s pretty sad. I wasn’t impressed with the valve body. I had to try several ahoweheads to get one that had enough pressure. I found the showerhead makes all the difference even with flow restrictions removed. Larger holes equals less pressure. Smaller holes equals more pressure.
