divertor valve

I recently installed divertor valves in both bathrooms due to leaking. The leaking problem is no solved but when you pull out the handle to divert the water to the showerhead it bangs really hard. If you are downstairs it sounds like the bathroom is coming through the floor. Anybody having same problem or know the cause.

Sounds like you did not anchor the shower head pipe solidly enough...
Try to turn the shower diverter on while holding the shower head - If you feel a hamer, that is probably the problem...
