Delta Rough in shower and Tub valve, can this port be drilled to add more flow for the tub?

I have been looking at several valves trying to find one that will fill my tub fast, and then I saw this...

It has a port at the top (red arrow) that feeds the tub spout and shower, its a hole that narrows down to a small size (at least on mine it does). The bottom hole, blue arrow is blocked. I was wondering if I could just dril a hole throught that to allow for more water to enter the tub spout. Is this going to cause a problem? If the tub spout is stopped it will send the water to the shower right so no problem, right?

From prior posts, these are some of the valves that are referenced, if you want high flow rate...

Kohler K-2976-KS-NA MasterShower 3/4 - 17 gpm might be hard to beat...

R10000-UNBXHF with 17t cartridge
