My water softener released a bunch of resins into the plumbing system clogging the kitchen faucets, water inlet to the toilet, vanity fixtures and the shower. I was able to flush everything except the shower system and I have delta faucets 1700 series shower system. I had contacted delta and they provided instructions on how to flush the cartridge and the diverter. I'm a little unclear on whether the water pressure coming out of the rough in/ valves be powerful? Water coming out from the Delta R10000 rough in is strong, but water from Delta R11000 is like a kid pissing. I'm trying to troubleshoot and isolate where the clog might be so I can flush it. I've so far flushed the water heater tank, kitchen faucets, water inlet to the toilet, 2 other vanity faucets and found some resins, all are back to working order except the shower with very low water pressure. In the picture attached, is the incoming water supposed to come out from the 3 little holes at the bottom of the rough in?

While looking for my previous post (shows pending approval?), I came across the passing of Terry. Although I just came across these forums after having some plumbing issues and did not know Terry, my deepest condolences.

I wonder if you can shoot low pressure air back through the shower head with the main shower cartridge removed to blow whatever debris back?

Thanks for the reply tuttles!
All the low pressure and clogging happened after the water softener's membrane broke and released the resins into the plumbing system. I finally got it fixed by flushing all fixtures, showers and faucets.

I blew my leaf blower through both the diverter valve (R11000) and main shower valve (R10000), vacuumed with a shop vac. Tapped around the connections around the valves to dislodge if there's anything stuck in there. I finally grabbed my garden hose and blew it through the shower nipple, and both valves. The backflow of water through different openings dislodged whatever was blocking the way.

Hooray for saving $2k+ quote from 2 different plumbers to flush the water heater tank, 1 kitchen faucet, 2 vanity faucets and the shower. + $250/ each faucet installation cos according to them all the fixtures were clogged and must be replaced.
