We installed this about 5 years ago: MS604114CEF(R)(G)

We've had plumbers out twice to confirm that there is no clog between the toilet and the sewer, we took the toilet off its base to make sure there was nothing in there, sent a camera down the line to make sure there's no root intrusion or pipe break....

It continues to clog almost every day, with NO paper usage at all.

The toilet is in a small space and we can't really fit anything bigger - so I have two questions.

1. Is there a Toto that has a bigger trapway and flush valve?
2. Do you know of any better-flushing toilets that won't stick out more than 27" from the back wall?

It's okay if it is a 1.6 gal rather than a 1.28 gal, because at this point we have to flush 3-4 times per use.

ETA: Needs to be elongated bowl and ADA height. One-piece preferred but not essential.

If you hold down the handle it will flush three gallons.

If the toilet is plugging, there may be something in the trapway. Even something like Q-Tips is enough to hang things up.
What does it do if you dump a five gallon bucket right into the bowl? It should take that in seconds.

If you need a bigger trapway, then the Caroma, but they are rather long. They have a 3" trapway.
The TOTO has a 2" trapway.

Sadly, when it gets clogged, holding the handle down longer doesn't help - just fills the bowl up to the rim. After waiting a few minutes, the extra water trickles away, leaving a very low water level in the bowl.

We took off, inspected, and re-set the toilet itself.

Is there anything we could do with the flapper and/or fill valve that would cause the toilet to flush more forcefully?

Doesn't sound like a problem with getting enough water from the tank into the bowl. The bowl should never fill up to the rim. Something is impeding the flow out of the bowl. Only two possibilities: something inside the trapway, or something distal to the trapway.

My money's on something in the trapway like Terry said. Even though you've pulled the toilet and looked at it from the bottom, there may still be a Q-tip or something like that lodged up where you can't see it. A toilet auger might be able to snag it.

If you do pull the toilet again, suggest you dump a 5-gallon pail of water down the toilet flange to make sure no obstruction distal to the toilet. Has to be one or the other.

Something to consider first. Get a 5 gallon or more container, and fill with water. Pour it into the bowl from as high as you can as fast as you dare.

That may not dislodge a Q-tip or toy solder, but it might.

Did this problem occur immediately, or only after maybe the first 2 years?

Is your water particularly hard? If so, there could be a passage limed up. However you would have seen other toilets have the same problem.

I have an idea where you drain much of the water. Then start forcefully shoving lots full-size ice cubes into the passage. The hope is that pushes the obstruction out. No worry about them getting stuck.
