blade

I have never tried a masonry blade, but I suspect it would "burn" or melt its way through the marble. I use a convention, fine tooth blade, to minimize chipping and cut from the back side.

Thank you

I appreciate your reply. I had been planing to cut it with a fine tooth carbide blade but I had been reading that people were using masonry blades. I didn't think that would be as good as using the carbide. I like your tip about cutting from the back side to minimize the chipping.
Thank you.

jig saw

cutting it with a jig saw has
worked pretty well for me in the past
less stress on the marble and less dust

I never cared for "ripping through " the stuff
slower seemed to be more my speed

just take some duct tape and make a tape line along where you
want to cut to so niether the poower saw or the
jig saw sctarches the marble.
