I got a push back for installing a sump pump in the crawl space for $2400. Including digging 2 feet, drilling hole in a brick, and piping. Parts and labor helper is $700. How much are you all charging to instal a sump pump in the crawl space?

I say charge what is needed to make money. You know your overhead and costs. They didn't have to accept the bid if they didn't like the price. For the amount of work stated it doesn't seem high to me. How many hours?

Sounds less than I would have thought for your high cost silicon valley area. I am not a pro, but I have dug one sump pit into a basement.

What about the electric-- is somebody putting in an outlet? I think that would be GFCI by code.

If you are a licensed and insured contractor and pay for workers compensation insurance for employee and have payroll services, that price is in line.
If not, you would be in violation of state law for acting as a contractor for work in excess of the threshold $500.

700 tells a lot but as others said could be cheap but lets put it this way for 1700 bucks exactly what are you doing ? nothing just paying an illegal to do the job would be the minimum And in such case Id say thats pretty fat but if you are spending a day or 2 and are just an Aprentice 2400 might be good but if you are a contractor 2 days of your own labor plus the laborer would be cheap. Kinda doubt you are a Licensed Contractor but that would mean overhead and a little more value But a unlicensed guy with 700 cost plus a days work even for a grand would be 1700 So yea in that case I wouldnt pay a apprentice 1400 a day either . good luck on it , and hope you might be an Apprentice at LU 393 san Jose I traveled in and those guys treated us great went to thier picnic in LOs Gatos they had feasts at thier hall on meeting nights plus made a grip of money LOL The Apple Spaceship tour biggest job I been on!!
