I just bought a house that has copper pipes. The homeowner recently replaced the water softener with an Aqua Rex unit that uses electric pulses that is attached to the copper pipe. I thought electricity corrodes copper pipes. Is this a good idea to use this solution? It doesn't make any logical sense to have this unit.

If electricity corrodes copper I better have all my electric wires removed from my home. Also I Will go back to every single building and remove the Ground wire just in case some electrician did an improper installation

I think we can all agree with that last sentence.

I think the only harm will be the money and power wasted. Plus it causes him to put off getting the water softener he should have.
