My basement has a drain that runs into a field tile. We have had so much rain lately that the drain is backing up. I was thinking of putting in a stand pipe. I think the only thing the drain is doing now is for the furnace. Can I use a stand pipe and run a condensate pump from my furnace into it? Also, is there any kind of pipe that will make a tight seal into a drain? Thanks

If there were, you would have to know what size hole you are trying to seal to.

For example, if the drain were 3 inches ID, you could get a Flood Guard standpipe model. I doubt that your drain hole is that big.

I will have to check that but I am pretty sure it is not 3". This is a house I am rehabbing and is about 45 miles away. I will be there tomorrow to check. I was there today when we got a heavy rain and I was finally able to verify that it is coming from the drain. That flood guard would be great, I would not need a condensate pump. I will report back tomorrow night. Thank you
