hi, IPC code looks to require standpipes to be a minimum of 18" high, which makes sense for something high flow like a washer discharge. But does that apply to condensate drains as well? I have a little mechanical closet, and I'd like to drain condensate into a receptacle as close to the floor as possible to avoid the need for pumps and to keep it easily accessible (other things will be mounted above on the wall). It's a renovation for a slab on grade, so installing a floor drain would be tough.
What I have in mind would be similar to this, just with the bottom of the p-trap a bit closer to the floor:
I'm in Virginia, so I believe I am under the IPC.
And the lines into it would include:
- heat pump condensate
- gas furnace condensate
- tankless water heater condensate
- tankless pressure relief valve
- dehumidifier condensate
Any suggestions for where to find a little funnel or collection tray for the top of the standpipe would be appreciated as well.
Thank you!
Ben
