Compression hose on flared connection?

I need to replace an old braided sink water supply hose to a tapered valve connection. All hoses I find at big box stores are compression type. Will the compression type work on tapered connections?

What size tapered connection are you looking at? A 1/2" pipe would be a 1/2" FIP fitting.

What do you mean by "tapered connection"? Unless it is a flare connection, the valves have a "gasket compression"seal.

I used the wrong term. What I mean is a flared connection. The supply line valve has a flared connector and all I find are compression hoses. The size is 3/8. Will a compression fitting seal on a flared valve?

NO! Either change the valve or make your own connector out of copper tubing.
