Does the 2014 Illinois Plumbing Code allow you to discharge a clothes washer waste into a utility sink?

I am trying to repurpose the existing 2" standpipe where my washer used to be to become a sink drain, and then was planning to discharge the washer into the sink. My inspector said the washing machine has to have a separate standpipe.

I looked, but did not find any such prohibition. I cannot imagine it not being allowed. Ask the inspector to cite the section. I am not a pro.

I put one of those mesh lint filters over the end of the discharge from the washer. The drain should be able to pass that fine, but I use the lint filter anyway.
