Hello. Following NY code for residential.
Replacing existing 1-1/2 & 2" galvanized and undersized 1-1/2" PVC pipe servicing a double kitchen sink with dishwasher. Both were significantly clogged.

Replacement is no-hub cast iron with bronze and copper for the stub out, trap arm, trap and tail pieces. Reusing the existing 1.5" galvanized vent stack (which is probably clogged near the roof, but that's a separate issue). I am adding cleanout where one wasn't previously and not sure on placement. I've read the relevant code sections, but it seems maybe it is discretionary.

I believe the relevant sections are 708.1.4 which states that changes of direction greater than 45 degrees require a cleanout. There is one on the horizontal combowye already. But i think I would need another on the fixture branch before the stack.

There is also an exception mentioned in 708.1.1 for horizontal fixture drains, though I'm a little fuzzy on how to interpret this one. but it makes it sound like it is not required. I thinkIi'd like to add one anyways just to make future servicing a breeze.

I've come up with two layouts option A or B show in the photos fit. However with Option A, the fixture stub-out would be centered on the fixture. Versus Option B it would be centered on the right tailpiece. I think option A is the safest path, but does result in a few more fittings getting used.

Open to input. thanks.

- edit - going with option B. Noted that the test tee in the horizontal creates a bit of a low spot where debris would catch.
