Clack backwash leaking

My house is in the process of being built so once a week I run some water through the Iron filter and backwash it.

But this little air inlet thingy already started leaking. A solid squirt gun. I turned the inlet off and on a bunch of times and it slowed to a drip. I assume dirt got in there. It is the dirty water.

It’s only been backwashed a dozen times or so.

Why is this air inlet thing needed? Can I eliminate it? It that to help prevent freeing on the other end?

Those are supposed to reduce noise, you need to replace the drain fitting. Those are no longer used due to the leaking problems. You will notice in the picture below that that port is now plugged or completely removed from the mold...

Any idea where I can order #3 in the USA

Mine is the one for big button on WS1 and straight.

Should I be upset I was sent the old one and on new Iron filter.
