Change pressure switch from 20-35 to 40-60?

A 1/2HP, 10 GPM will pump 10 GPM at 50 PSI from 16' deep. A 1HP will use the same power per gallon when putting out 20 GPM. Max pressure of that Vevor was 65 PSI, so my guess is it got hot working close to 60 PSI. 35/55 might even be too much for that pump.

That very well could be true!

But, it's going back to Vevor soon anyway.

Like I said, I think it's time to step up to something better.

Any suggestions for something perhaps around $500? Could I find a decent quality pump for that amount?

Thanks again,
Larry.

Won't likely be much different in quality to the Hallmark pump, but may be possibly equipped with a higher quality internal check valve.

At $150 for the Hallmark, you could buy 3 Hallmark's for less than $500. As others have reported, even over several years, the Hallmark paired with a CSV has provided reliable operation.

Any suggestions on what to look for in an auxiliary check valve to connect directly to the pump outlet? Any brand/model suggestions? Will it decrease the flow or pressure?

Thanks again everyone!
Larry.

Expect a check valve to drop the pressure about 2 psi. Must be spring-loaded.
