hi, i am new member. I need your professional advice. I just bought a new house but i noticed that i see bumps on the ceiling tape joints in the bedroom. Only at night. During the day time all ceilings look normal. The builder claims that it’s not an issue but i hate the look. I asked the builder to fix the problem but he refused. Why do i see them only at night? Is this a bad job? Is there any bad impact on the ceilings in the future?? I need your advice pls. Pls note that i’m from Ontario canada
Thanks alot

Totally unacceptable on a new house. It even shows with a textured ceiling which is usually applied to hide your problem. You only see it at night due to the lights reflecting off the imperfections. Drywallers use a bright light at an angle to check the quality of their work. It will get worse as time goes by. Probably done by non-drywallers. Demand it be redone.

Before I looked at the pics, I expected the problem to only be on the butt joints which don't have any taper and so need to be feathered out over a wide span. Butt joints can be difficult to hide. Either they got lazy and ran short sheets all butting at the same place or layered on way too much mud.

You can see in the following video how wide a butt joint needs to be.
