Our contractor is just about to finish up our bathroom remodel and we are wondering if he should have silicone around the top of our crown molding onxy system in our shower?

See pictures.

I would. Moisture rising could sit on top of that plastic molding and possibly eat away at the ceiling and wall over time. I would have caulked the trim when installed. I am an expert at finding rotting material in shower areas.
