I cannot for the life of me figure this out. I would like to just sweat the adapter to the stub out. I am not able to get the thing to fit over the copper stub out. I'm following the directions, page 7, and am trying to do the "B-3" installation. The pictured adapter in the directions does not appear to be the same one. The copper stub out will not go any further than right where the internal threading butts up to the internal o-ring. Am I just doing something wrong or is this the wrong adapter?

Pictures attached.

Thank you for any guidance. I searched pretty thoroughly and have not seen this specific type of adapter anywhere, here or otherwise on the internet.

What is that adapter? It does not seem to be the RP12307 adapter that we are more familiar with for soldering and is shown in the B-3 illustration. . https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP12307

I see it has a set screw. RP33794 is the set screw version. https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP33794

I tried https://www.deltafaucet.com/search-results?searchTerm=adapter+tub+spout#resultPage=0

How close is your copper pipe to fitting into the small hole?

Do you have a digital caliper? Maybe set it 0.625 inches and rotate around to see if the end of the pipe has become out of round.

That is a great idea. I don’t have a set of calipers but I will take a closer look tonight.

That version seems like it is designed to slide on, and then anchor it with the setscrew versus the one that is soldered on.

What I've found is that if you do two things, it tends to work better:
- use a tool to chamfer the end of the pipe and remove any burrs that might nick the o-ring
- put some silicon plumbers grease on the 0-ring.

Just doing the second thing may be enough, but you really don't want to slice up the o-ring, so make sure the end is smooth.

Hey, wait a minute.

This is awkward, but...
