Can pressure relief valve share condensate drain discharge line?

Hi Fellas,
Installing a new gas water heater shortly in my house. I noticed both the air handler condensate drain and water heater PRV connect to copper and penetrate the interior wall. At the exterior of the house there is only 1 discharge line. I have not yet opened the wall, but assume they tie together. House passed inspection in Tucson AZ when built in 2003.

I've always seen them plumbed separately, so I'm curious if this is ok? Seems smarter to just run a separate line "while im there."

I doubt this is OK. I am not a plumber.

Test the T+P valve with the lever. You will probably want a helper on the other side of the wall to watch where the water comes out.

Not necessarily. IF they are connected, the water should backup into the condensate line and overflow it.
