Hope this isn't too far off "sports" topic... looking for a clever solution / contraption...

When we (me + wife + 2 kids) go car camping we've found that using a 2" memory foam topper makes the most awesome ground pad for sleeping on in our tent. The downside is wrestling the thing in and out of some sort of shape that is good for storage at home and transporting in the car.

Any suggestions or ideas on how to tame this comfortable beast?

Check around the campground for someone from Jamaica. They should be able to roll it up for you.

As for me, it ain't camping if I'm not sleeping on a green pine cone in the middle of my back.

Agree w the Thermorest (or equivalent) suggestion.

I got a super-sized version from Cabelas which went well with an oversize cot from them as well.

If you have access to a vacuum cleaner, You can put it in a bag and suck the air out of it. That helps to clean it too.
