Many of us have stories of how our families came here. I get bits and pieces from my own family history, so many places and times that made me who I am now. I sometimes joke that I am Heinz 57. Blended humanity.
My stories include coming over on the Mayflower by way of the Netherlands, which I would guess that 10% could claim that here, Some came from France, having soldiered with Napoleon. Somewhat recent may have been West Virginia, by way of the coal mines, which from my reading could mean Eastern Europe at some point. Stories of coming across the plains in wagons. At some point, we all settle in and start doing what we love doing. Or try at least.
