Hi, long time lurker here! We get a lot of thunder and lightning as well as brownouts here in the southern end of Georgia. I was thinking of getting one of these https://www.ebay.com/itm/175566096964 and a waterproof junction box to protect my pump in the case of an over/under voltage condition. The pump I'm planning to buy is a 2-wire plus ground rated at 5.1 amps @230 V. I was considering using this wire to wire from the pump lead to the box: flat pump wire Anyway, let me know if this is a practical idea or complete garbage.
Thank you for your input.

Failure detection time is 3 seconds page 4. $14 apiece something that cheap with all that has all the features don't know about reliability.
Thank you for linking the manual. I've purchased many of the 120V over/under protectors in the past to put on appliances that I . I like that when plan to keep for a while. If there is a low voltage situation, it shuts the appliance off for two minutes and by that time, the power is usually off for a while. The downside of that of course is that in the case of a surge, the box is sacrificed. Do you think 3 second detection time is okay?

It won't take care of the blips. For $14 Why not.
